Kenshin Shotokan Karate Club (KSKC) was formed in 2000. It is a registered member of NAKMAS (National Association of Karate And Martial Art Schools) and is affiliated to Karate England.  The instructor of KSKC is Sensei Franklyn Doras 4th Dan,and his assistant instructors are Grace Shorthouse 1st Dan and Alun Shorthouse 1st Dan (see instructor profile for more information).

We offer training in traditional Shotokan Karate. The club caters for all ages (minimum age 5yrs) and has students of all levels; from black belts to our many beginners (male & female).

We use Japanese terminology, which is standard practice in dojos around the world.

The benefit of this, is that the karate student could train anywhere in the world, and be able to understand instructions. Karate overcomes the language barrier.

Learning karate is a great opportunity to meet and make new friends.

We welcome family groups: parents with children, brothers and sisters. Its an activity that the whole family can enjoy together.

Family and friends are welcome to stay and watch during lessons.

The true aim of karate is not the perfection of technique,
but the perfection of one's character
